When I started my business in 2011, I couldn’t see 10 months into the future let alone, 10 years. I sort of “stumbled” into the beauty industry, tripping over a pending divorce, depression and a dire need to find relief from the troubles I was going through at that time. In a perfect world, I would take myself on a tropical vacation to get away from all the drama. At the least, I would take myself to a spa where I would sink myself into a hydrotherapy tub, get my dead skin cells sloughed away with an aromatic sugar scrub, and get the kinks out of my neck due tension and stress.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford to do either.
Instead, I took to the internet, did some research and created my own spa products. All I wanted to do was make myself feel beautiful and relaxed. Since I couldn’t go to the Caribbean, I decided to bring the Caribbean to me with a fruity, tropical scent. When I needed to mentally recharge, I gravitated to my invigorating spa scents. As I created my scent categories, I quickly realized my brand was more than nice smelling products that were eco-friendly and great for the skin, hair and nails. The brand was about healing, wholeness, selfcare and creating an atmosphere to house positive energy.
Here we are, 10 years later. On Saturday, June 5, 2021, I Design Beauty, LLC celebrated our 10th year in business with a full-on brick and mortar pop-up shop. Packed with products for bath, body and the home, the pop-up was a fun-filled day with shopping, music and lots of celebrating.
So, what’s next for I Design Beauty? What will be of the remainder of 2021? What does the next 10 years look like? You’ll have to stay tuned. For now, look for more pop-ups, vendor events, and the expansion of our Home Indulgence line.
